Privacy Policy for ImageUpWP

Effective Date: August 10, 2026
Last Updated: August 10, 2026

ImageUpWP ("ImageUpWP", "the Extension", "we", "our", or "us") is a Chrome browser extension that allows users to upload images downloaded from supported websites directly to a WordPress website selected and configured by the user.

ImageUpWP is designed with privacy in mind. We do not operate a server that stores your downloaded images, WordPress credentials, browsing history, or WordPress content.

This Privacy Policy explains what information ImageUpWP accesses, how that information is used, where information is stored, and when information may be transmitted to third-party services.

1. What ImageUpWP Does

ImageUpWP allows users to send supported downloaded images to their own WordPress websites.

The Extension currently supports images downloaded from:

  • Google Gemini
  • ChatGPT / OpenAI
  • VistaCreate
  • Piktochart
  • Creative Fabrica

The availability of these integrations depends on the ImageUpWP plan being used.

Free Plan

The Free version of ImageUpWP includes support for uploading images downloaded from Google Gemini to WordPress.

Premium Plan

A valid ImageUpWP Premium license unlocks additional supported websites, including:

  • ChatGPT / OpenAI
  • VistaCreate
  • Piktochart
  • Creative Fabrica

Premium licenses are purchased and managed through Freemius.

2. Information ImageUpWP Accesses

ImageUpWP accesses only information reasonably necessary to provide its image-to-WordPress functionality.

Depending on the features you use, this may include:

Downloaded Images

When you choose to upload an image to WordPress, ImageUpWP may access the selected or recently downloaded image so that it can be transferred to the WordPress website you configured.

ImageUpWP does not upload copies of these images to servers controlled by the ImageUpWP publisher.

The image is transferred to the WordPress website selected by the user.

Supported Website Information

ImageUpWP may detect when you are using a supported website, such as Gemini, ChatGPT, VistaCreate, Piktochart, or Creative Fabrica, in order to enable the Extension's image upload functionality.

The Extension may access limited information from the active page when necessary to identify or process an image that the user chooses to upload.

ImageUpWP does not collect or maintain a history of the websites you visit for advertising, profiling, analytics, or behavioral tracking purposes.

WordPress Website Information

To upload images to WordPress, users provide information such as:

  • WordPress website URL
  • WordPress username
  • WordPress Application Password
  • Other configuration information necessary to connect to the user's WordPress website

This information is used solely to authenticate with the WordPress website selected by the user and perform requested operations such as uploading an image to the WordPress Media Library.

Chrome Web Store Data Categories

For purposes of the Chrome Web Store Privacy Practices disclosure, ImageUpWP may handle the following categories of user data:

Authentication Information
ImageUpWP uses the WordPress username and WordPress Application Password provided by the user to authenticate directly with the user's configured WordPress website. These credentials are used only to perform user-requested WordPress operations.

Website Content
ImageUpWP may access image content and limited page information from supported websites when necessary to identify and process an image for a user-requested upload to WordPress.

ImageUpWP does not use this information for advertising, behavioral profiling, cross-site tracking, or unrelated analytics.

3. WordPress Application Passwords

Your WordPress Application Password is stored locally on the device where ImageUpWP is installed and is protected using appropriate security measures.

ImageUpWP does not send your WordPress Application Password to servers owned or operated by the ImageUpWP publisher.

When you initiate an upload, the credential is transmitted directly from the Extension to the WordPress website you configured solely for the purpose of authenticating the requested WordPress operation.

Authentication credentials are transmitted only over secure HTTPS connections.

Users should create a dedicated WordPress Application Password for ImageUpWP rather than using their primary WordPress account password.

You can revoke the Application Password at any time from your WordPress user profile.

4. Local Storage

ImageUpWP may store extension settings locally on your device so that you do not need to enter the same configuration every time you use the Extension.

Locally stored information may include:

  • WordPress website configuration
  • WordPress authentication information
  • User preferences
  • Extension settings
  • License-related configuration where applicable

This information is used to provide ImageUpWP functionality.

ImageUpWP does not maintain a publisher-operated cloud database containing your WordPress credentials or uploaded images.

Removing ImageUpWP from your browser may remove Extension data stored by the browser, subject to Chrome's own storage behavior.

5. Image Transfers

When you instruct ImageUpWP to upload an image, the image may be processed locally by the Extension and transmitted to the WordPress website you configured.

The ImageUpWP publisher does not receive or store a copy of the image as part of this process.

Once an image has been uploaded to your WordPress website, its storage and processing are controlled by your WordPress hosting provider, WordPress configuration, installed plugins, CDN services, or other services associated with that website.

You are responsible for the privacy and security configuration of your WordPress website.

6. Freemius Licensing and Payments

ImageUpWP uses Freemius to provide licensing, payment processing, subscriptions, license activation, and related premium-product functionality.

When you purchase, activate, manage, or validate an ImageUpWP Premium license, information necessary to provide those services may be transmitted to and processed by Freemius.

ImageUpWP does not directly store your payment card information.

Purchases, subscriptions, license management, and related information processed by Freemius are subject to the Freemius Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and applicable Freemius data-processing practices.

Freemius Privacy Policy:

https://freemius.com/privacy/

Freemius operates independently from ImageUpWP with respect to information processed through its licensing, checkout, and account-management systems.

7. Information We Do Not Collect

ImageUpWP may process authentication information and website content locally as necessary to provide its functionality, but does not collect or store this information on publisher-operated servers.

  • Your WordPress Application Password
  • Your primary WordPress password
  • Images you upload to WordPress
  • Your WordPress posts or media library contents
  • Your general browsing history
  • Your search history
  • Your ChatGPT conversations
  • Your Gemini conversations
  • Your Creative Fabrica account content
  • Your VistaCreate projects
  • Your Piktochart projects
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Location data
  • Health information
  • Financial account credentials

ImageUpWP does not build advertising profiles or behavioral profiles about its users.

8. No Sale of Personal Information

ImageUpWP does not sell, rent, trade, or broker users' personal information.

Information accessed by the Extension is not used for:

  • Advertising
  • Cross-site tracking
  • Behavioral profiling
  • Creditworthiness decisions
  • Data brokerage
  • Marketing databases

9. Third-Party Websites

ImageUpWP works with websites and services operated by third parties.

These may include:

  • Google Gemini
  • OpenAI / ChatGPT
  • VistaCreate
  • Piktochart
  • Creative Fabrica
  • WordPress
  • Freemius

Use of those websites and services is governed by their respective privacy policies and terms.

ImageUpWP does not control how those third-party services independently collect, process, or store information when you use their websites.

ImageUpWP's ability to interact with a supported website does not imply ownership of, sponsorship by, endorsement by, or affiliation with that website unless expressly stated.

10. Chrome Permissions

ImageUpWP may request Chrome permissions necessary to perform its disclosed functions.

Depending on the version of the Extension, these permissions may allow ImageUpWP to:

  • Detect supported websites
  • Access information on supported pages necessary to identify downloadable images
  • Access downloads required for user-requested image uploads
  • Store Extension settings locally
  • Communicate with a user-configured WordPress website
  • Communicate with Freemius for premium licensing where required

ImageUpWP uses Chrome permissions only for the functions disclosed to the user and described in the Chrome Web Store listing.

Permissions are not used to collect unrelated browsing activity.

11. Chrome Web Store Limited Use Disclosure

ImageUpWP's use and transfer of information received from Google Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Information accessed through Chrome APIs is used only to provide or improve the user-facing functionality of ImageUpWP.

ImageUpWP does not use information obtained through Chrome APIs for personalized advertising, advertising measurement, creditworthiness, lending purposes, or the sale of user data.

ImageUpWP does not transfer user data to third parties except when necessary to:

  1. provide or improve the Extension's user-facing functionality;
  2. comply with applicable law or legal obligations;
  3. protect against security threats, fraud, abuse, or illegal activity; or
  4. complete a transaction explicitly initiated by the user, such as purchasing or validating an ImageUpWP Premium license through Freemius.

Human access to user data is not permitted except when necessary for security, legal compliance, or when explicitly authorized by the user for support or troubleshooting purposes.

12. Data Security

ImageUpWP is designed to minimize the amount of information transmitted outside the user's browser.

  • WordPress credentials are intended to remain locally stored and are transmitted only to the configured WordPress website when needed to authenticate a requested operation.
  • ImageUpWP requires WordPress connections that transmit authentication information or user data to use HTTPS. Authentication credentials and images are not intentionally transmitted over unsecured HTTP connections.
  • Users are also responsible for securing their computers, browsers, WordPress accounts, and hosting environments.
  • No electronic system can guarantee absolute security. However, ImageUpWP is designed according to the principle of data minimization and avoids operating an unnecessary publisher-side database for Extension user content.

13. Data Retention

Because ImageUpWP does not maintain publisher-operated servers containing users' WordPress credentials or uploaded images, we do not maintain a publisher-side retention period for this information.

Extension settings stored locally remain on the user's device according to the Extension's and Chrome's storage behavior.

Information processed by Freemius is retained according to Freemius' own privacy policy, contractual obligations, and legal requirements.

Images uploaded to WordPress remain subject to the retention settings and policies of the user's WordPress website and hosting provider.

14. Children's Privacy

ImageUpWP is not specifically directed toward children under the age required to consent to online services in their jurisdiction.

We do not knowingly operate a service designed to collect personal information from children.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when ImageUpWP's features, integrations, Chrome permissions, licensing system, or applicable legal requirements change.

When material changes affect how user information is collected, used, stored, or shared, the Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

The "Last Updated" date at the top of this document identifies the latest revision.

16. Your Choices

You control whether ImageUpWP performs an upload.

You may:

  • Remove a configured WordPress website
  • Revoke the WordPress Application Password assigned to ImageUpWP
  • Remove locally stored Extension settings
  • Uninstall ImageUpWP
  • Cancel or manage a Premium license through Freemius
  • Choose not to use Premium integrations
